British Council ‘International School Award’

I am delighted to inform our school community that we have been successful in achieving the Foundation Certificate for the British Council International School Award!

This award is recognition for the work we do in school promoting learning around issues of Global Citizenship and International activities.

In assessing our work, the Council made the following comments:

Stanley Crook School is already involved in a range of interesting global citizenship and international activities (Through the Lens project / Rights Respecting Schools Award) that are embedding a meaningful global dimension across the school.

The school is keen to celebrate and explore the diversity of cultures and backgrounds of its pupils and the wider community which they consider to be key to a child’s development / increasing active global citizenship skills.  The school has established a link with a partner in Mozambique which provides the focus for the international activity described within this Foundation Certificate application.  It is clear to see that the activity has enabled real and meaningful learning for the pupils, raising awareness of life and culture in their partner school and encouraging reflection on their own.  Set within the wider context of the Rights Respecting Schools Award this is a quality international activity.
