Welcome to Team Rowling Activities
We have continued our insect art by creating fantastic butterflies using modelling clay.
In Art we have made some marvelous, montage insect pictures using pencil and watercolours.
In art we have been sketching insects, looking at their body parts and what they need to have, to be classified as an insect.
We have been learning all about what to do in the event of an earthquake and how the strength of the earthquake affects the damage and destruction to our planet.
We have received some fantastic volcano homework, Team Rowling are really enjoying sharing their work with their team.
In French the children have been making preferences of food in a Venn diagram. They then showed strength of preferences in their written sentences. We also looked at how to describe nouns using light, dark or bright and a colour.
Science – Properties of Rocks
During science we have been investigating the properties of rocks. We conducted a series of experiments to test the feel, durability and density of different rocks including sandstone, obsidian and granite.
Team Rowling have been working super hard this afternoon! We are developing our ICT skills by creating our own Power points containing all our knowledge about the Anglo-Saxons.
Team Rowling have designed their own Anglo-Saxon villages to accompany their non-chronological reports. They included; the chief’s home, blacksmiths, water sources, woodland, farmland, family homes and lots of other essentials.
Team Rowling’s brains are buzzing! We have been working really hard on our writing this afternoon. We wrote some brilliant non-chronological reports all about life in an Anglo-Saxon village. We included lots at amazing facts, paragraphs and subheadings, well done Team Rowling!
During our UNICEF lessons Team Rowling have been learning about Global Citizenship, we have been looking to help people around the world and this week we discussed the Australian bush fires. Team Rowling were really enthusiastic about helping Australian people and animals, they designed posters to encourage people to donate to the Australian Red Cross. After discussing the problem with Mr Christie, we were able to present our work to the rest of the school during assembly, well done Team Rowling.
