Mr Gray (PE leader – Parkside Academy) will be working with pupils in Team 5 over the coming term, supporting our delivery of the PE Curriculum and providing valuable CPD to our staff.
Pupils will be seeking signatures from our school community in notice of support for our campaign to reduce the speed limit outside of our school. Currently, the road is set as a National Speedlimit highway and it is our aim to persuade the Local Authority to reduce the Speedlimit to 30m.p.h.
Over the next four weeks, pupils from our Rights Respecting UNICEF group will be at our school gate at the end of the school day to obtain signatures for the petition and they will then present the signatures to full council meeting during their visit to County Hall on June 22nd.
A copy of the petition is also in our main entrance and available to sign when visitors are welcomed to school.
We look forward to receiving your support with this campaign.
Pupils from our UNICEF Rights Respecting group will meet with Cllr John Hart on Wednesday to discuss involvement and plans for the regeneration of the village play park.
Pupils in Team 3 and Team 4 are looking forward to an interesting afternoon with Miss Bentham this Wednesday. Taking the part of Mistress Johnson, she will transport the pupils to the world of The Tudors, demonstrating what life was like in England more than 400 years ago.
Pupils in Year 5 are thoroughly enjoying their DT work with teachers from Wolsingham Secondary School. They are involved in a range of interesting and exciting projects where they have been able to utilise the expert equipment and tuition from Wolsingham school.
Well done Year 5! I am looking forward to seeing your finished projects.
All pupils and staff have had a wonderful time at Dukeshouse Wood during our annual Kingswood residential trip. Pupils conducted themselves outstandingly well and we’re all able to set and achieve their individual targets for personal challenge. Well done Team 5!
Myself, Miss Johnson and Mr Douglas are looking forward to our trip to Dukehouse Wood on Wednesday. We will be out of school with the Year 5 and Year 6 pupils until Friday when we expect to return for around 2:30pm.
Any queries during this time can be directed to my Deputy Headteacher, Mrs Brabban.
Work has been completed to improve the outdoor area for our Early Years Team; I am extremely pleased with the results! Pupils now have access to a Maths, Reading and Building shed and the boys in particular are enjoying writing much more now that they have camoflauge writing jackets! The stage is also in use a great deal more frequently now that the ‘actors’ have an audience. However, the current favourite for pupils in the new Mud Kitchen.
I am pleased to announce that work to improve provision to the Team 5 outdoor area has been completed. The area now has a climbing frame and three activity tables for the pupils to enjoy.
Thank you to the parents who attended our Parent First Aid workshop last week. The workshop focused on providing practical first aid advice regarding dealing with choking in young children. We will be delivering similar workshops for our pupils shortly.
