Wellbeing

Pupil wellbeing and positive mental health has always been a priority at Stanley Crook Primary School. We pride our school on delivering a broad and effective range of provision to support children’s personal development.

Please take time to view some examples of the types of provision and activities on offer at our school, which aim to support children’s mental health and wellbeing.

My Happy Mind
We are proud to be a part of the My Happy Mind family! As a whole school programme grounded in science and dedicated to building positive mental wellbeing, My Happy Mind helps children understand how their brains work and creates a culture that helps to build children’s resilience, confidence, and self-esteem. My Happy Mind also teaches the children how to self-regulate and manage their emotions in stressful times, allowing them to be their very best selves! Learn more here: https://myhappymind.org/

Anti-Bullying Week 2025

As part of Anti-Bullying Week, school welcomed our partners from BigFoot Art Education into school as they delivered workshops through the theme ‘Good to be me’ in Early Years and KS1 and how to be respectful and kind to others online. They delivered fun and engaging workshops aimed at supporting the children’s learning around kindness and being safe online.

Children’s Mental Health Week 2025

The theme this year is ‘Know Yourself, Grow Yourself’. In school we thought about how well we really know ourselves with the help of different emotions from the film ‘Inside Out’.

Mental Health Awareness Week was 12th – 18th May and on Friday 16th May, children were invited to wear green. The green ribbon is the international symbol of mental health awareness, so dressing in green is a great way to get involved and open up a conversation about mental health and that it’s okay to talk about it.

‘Together, we can help everyone have better mental health.’
