As part of our on going Community Food Awareness Project, pupils in Team 3 completed a ‘follow up’ to their visit to Tesco, where they supported the stores food bank, with a trip to the Shildon Alive Food Bank on Monday.
Many of you may recall that pupils from Team 3 have been involved in a project, supported by Tesco, aimed at developing knowledge and understanding of finance, the impact of limited budgets on families and the importance of reducing food waste.
Pupils have already completed a visit to Tesco at Bishop Auckland where they supported the collection of groceries for the food bank and this visit was aimed at showing the pupils where the collected food goes and who within the community it supports.
